The chorus seems to be somewhat satiric, with him singing about things he says in order to cope with the heartbreak. This is evident in the production, too.

The verses are accompanied with slow, melancholy-driven guitar strums and background violins, while in its mid point, the song receives a big energy boost with a fast, loud drumming, almost EDM-like.
