“Drifting” is a song that follows the story of an experience BENEE had at a party. The story took place in in Wellington, New Zealand, and describes her attending a fancy-dress party without a costume, due to just playing a gig shortly before attending. Noticing a girl in a fully silver dress, which seemed to resemble a space-suit, gave the inspiration of the space theme that is continued through the lyrics.

The track features on her second EP Stella & Steve and features fellow Kiwi musician Jack Berry. “Drifting” charted at number 32 on the New Zealand Hot Singles Chart.
