Nia Ilyssa

Magic House

LYRIC

You gotta case
You just working hard to take a pay cut, about face
Don't think too much about it
You'll miss the mark if you don't keep running, so run it up
Time is of the essence apply the pressure, Things are good but they could be better
Cast a few spells, crystal gaze, read my sign. I put in a hand to make sure my stars align
There's no cheat codes you gotta get through it
The good ones go if you don't pick right

And everyone wants to kick it with ya, but who really wants the best for ya
What's worse being trapped or alone, 'n I think I'm getting comfy
I've got the magic house, The one with the big white horse
Where troubles don't wear you down, if you just stay the course

Too many minute men, let me show you timeless
No low hanging fruit, the point is that you cry less
Don't make no excuses, you can't build an empire moving round clueless
Step up to the plate call the shots, This life's what you make it, or not
Can't stress I don't get enough sleep
Why fear the worst when the best's what you seek
There's no cheat codes you gotta get through it
The good ones go
The good ones go
The good ones go if you don't pick right

And everyone wants to kick it with ya, but who really wants the best for ya
What's worse being trapped or alone, 'n I think I'm getting comfy
I've got the magic house, The one with the big white horse
Where troubles won't wear you down, if you just stay the course

Only get one warning that's this nice you see
Imma one strike baby don't play with me
I stay up all night to get them rakes up
Can't handle some facts I call it straight up

Only get one warning that's this nice you see
Imma one strike baby don't play with me
I stay up all night to get them rakes up
Can't handle some facts I call it straight up

About "Magic House"

This song aligned with how Nia Ilyssa felt herself growing throughout the writing process. It was the very last song she wrote for “In Case You Need To Find Me.” Late night’s of pushing herself, with the true strength it takes to dedicate yourself fully to your goals. Nia wasn’t spending a lot of time with other people, and she wasn’t letting anyone take advantage of her time. Also the big white horse in this song, refers to Caleb Talbert who’s house in California is where she wrote and recorded all of the album. His guitar playing is featured at the end of this track.
