Internet Money enlists the help of frequent collaborators Trippie Redd and Juice WRLD to croon about failed love and fake women on “Blastoff,” a reflective track that focuses on past relationships.

On October 13, 2018, Trippie previewed a snippet of the song on his social media account, where he played a small part of his own verse and teased Juice’s vocals. On December 7, 2019, producer Taz Taylor previewed a longer snippet with an alternative instrumental.

Juice and Trippie were close friends and previously teased a joint project during a September 2018 No Jumper interview.

Two early demos of the track leaked throughout the late months of 2019. The track was later confirmed to release via Internet Money’s collaborative album, B4 THE STORM, on August 28, 2020 as the song appeared on the album’s final tracklist.
