“The River Runs Deep” is arguably the most popular song by the Knowmads, even though it is only sung by one of the two members, Tom Pepe. The song is about the different extreme directions that Pepe’s life could have gone in: either addicted to drugs and dying in the streets, or becoming successful. Though neither of these versions of him are exactly who he is, both contain elements of Pepe today.
