Anywhere is the third track and the fourth single of Interpol’s fifth studio album El Pintor, released in 2014.
It was this song that in it’s first rehearsal, as Paul Banks said, “quickly appeased any doubts” that the band would continue after the exit of bassist Carlos Dengler. As Paul said in an interview for Rolling Stone, “because I think once I had a bassline and a vocal idea we kind of knew. All right. We still got Sam, and so if this song is functioning like this with just a guitar, bass, and a vocal, then I guess we still have something.”
