Throughout the duration of “Farewell,” Em releases some inner tension caused by either an ex-partner or addiction, in a similar fashion to “Never Love Again.” Concluding that she’s/it’s the reason Em is in Hell, Em discusses the break-up and make-up nature of their relationship and the mind games involved that drove Em insane.

Despite the mass amounts of hatred Em has for his significant other, he hates nothing more than the fact that he still loves her/it.
