On January 17, 2020, A$AP Rocky previewed a snippet of “Arya” via his Instagram story. In the video, he flexed his new A$AP Yams chain in honor of Yams Day 2020, a ceremony which was held to honor and show respect for Rocky’s deceased mentor.
An updated version of the song was played during the Kenzo Fall 2022 Menswear Show at Paris Fashion Week. Nigo, the creative director of Kenzo, later released “Arya” as the first single for his album, I Know NIGO.
The piano-heavy instrumental couples with a hard hitting flow, similar to that used in Rocky’s 2019 song, “Babushka Boi”, to produce a unique sound.
