NAV and Gunna reunite with Travis Scott on “Turks,” the second collaboration between the three artists all on the song, following the featured artist’s August 2018 song, “YOSEMITE.” The three artists have also each collaborated individually with one another, as detailed below in the Q&A. This song also serves as the lead single to NAV’s third studio album, Good Intentions.

The title of this song refers to Turks & Caicos, which are a group of islands that are located southeast of the British Overseas Territory. The three artists tell a rags-to-riches story over the Wheezy-produced upbeat tune, discussing the transition from them being poor to eventually living a lavish lifestyle. They drop references to many expensive items that they possess, including cars, drugs, jewelry, weaponry, and women.

This song’s official music video premiered on NAV’s YouTube channel three days after its release, on March 30, 2020. Young Thug, a close friend and frequent collaborator of the three artists, makes a cameo appearance. The video was directed by NAV’s XO Records founder and manager, Amir “Cash” Esmailian.
