“Politics & Violence” is the second single from Dominic Fike’s debut album, What Could Possibly Go Wrong, following June 2020’s “Chicken Tenders.” On the song, he fuses alternative pop sounds with rap.

The Florida singer first acknowledged the song’s existence in a January 2020 post to Instagram containing a tentative album tracklist. On July 7, he previewed a short snippet of the song and revealed the release date. It later premiered on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1—along with a Reed Bennett-directed music video filmed in Scotland.
