“Froot” is the second track on Marina and the Diamonds‘ third studio album of the same name. It premiered on YouTube on October 10th, 2014, which also coincided with Marina’s 29th birthday. A month later, the track was digitally released and kicked off the “Froot of the Month” campaign, followed by “Happy.”

“Froot” was entirely written and composed by Marina, who also co-produced it with David Kosten. For the composition and the writing of the track, Marina claimed in an interview with The Line of Best Fit to have been inspired by Garbage, The Cardigans and Brody Dalle, some of her earliest influences.

The sensual music video of “Froot” was directed by Chino Moya and released on November 11th, 2014.
