“Physical (Remix)” marks the first collaboration between British singer-songwriter Dua Lipa and South Korean K-pop girl group, MAMAMOO’s, Hwasa — who is a rapper, singer and songwriter. It is also the first remix of Dua’s second official single from her second studio album, Future Nostalgia.

The song’s release date and time were revealed via MAMAMOO’s official Twitter account on March 16, 2020. Although it is unknown when the pair decided to work on a remix, they first met at the 2019 MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards) and Hwasa performed a cover of Dua’s June 2017 Summer anthem, “New Rules.”

Details about the song’s contents were revealed early by a frequent Twitter source, who said that Hwasa would appear on the song’s chorus.
