“4L” (originally titled “Matilda”) was first a throwaway recorded in 2018 by Pi'erre Bourne during the production of his 2019 debut studio album The Life of Pi'erre 4, which served as the fourth project in his Life of Pi'erre series.

Much like every song transitioning into each other on the album, this song ends as the transition from another TLOP4 leaked throwaway titled “Emotional”.

The track initially leaked on March 15, 2020 and then was officially released as part of the TLOP4 deluxe project.
