A searing indictment of modern-day rap, Apathy describes a scene where he’s at the docks in the morning, trying to clear his head. However, all of the crackheads have started hanging out at the pier where he is. The crackheads are the modern rappers while the pier represents rap itself.

He then goes on to criticize society, admitting that while he participates to some degree (“and I ain’t complaining”), all of the “realness” has been sapped out of our culture, leaving nothing but just a sad remnant of what it used to be. He comments on how he never really cared about this either, but the fact that he had a child on the way woke him up to it, and now it just makes him want to succeed that much more.

Meanwhile, Suave-Ski comes in painting a dark, gloomy picture of the underbelly of New England, telling a story of going to the store and walking back home.
