“A Brief History of Planet Earth” is an extended jam born of a mix of performances by King Gizzard Live in London, Berlin, Utrecht, and for the majority of the song, in Barcelona. The song is named after the working title of previous album Murder of the Universe, and a previous mini documentary of the band touring and recording several albums over the years uploaded to the YouTube channel “KGLW_Files”. The song starts off with an original ambient type of music similar to that of previous track Anamnesis off of Chunky Shrapnel, leading into Rattlesnake performed live in London, which is then mixed into an interpolated jam of Rattlesnake performed at Utrecht, which is then mixed into an extremely extended jam off of the bands signature closing track of Tour ‘19 “Head On/Pill” that turned into a borderline party in Barcelona with members of Opening Acts Stonefield and Orb taking over instruments from the band allowing them to jump into the crowd. The song then remains in its jam until Stu comes back from crowd-surfing to their sound engineer Sam to deliver him a beer.
