Polo G

“RAPSTAR” is a long-awaited single from Chicago rapper Polo G, which later appeared on his third studio album, Hall of Fame. On the track, Polo raps and sings about his relationships, feelings, fame, and wealth over a ukulele-based trap beat.

The track was first previewed in May 2020 via an acoustic collaboration with ukuleleist Einer Bankz. Months later, Polo suggested its appearance on Hall of Fame after a March 2021 Instagram post captioned by a line from it:

I’m the chosen one🤴🏾see my potential so they fear me🖤💯 #Hof

In an Instagram post on April 5, 2021, Polo revealed the track’s official title and release date of April 9, although the track would end up leaking in its entirety just a day after the announcement.

Upon release, the track quickly gained traction, topping the charts of multiple streaming services before debuting atop the Billboard Hot 100, marking Polo’s biggest hit to date. It also earned him a Genius Verified interview, which quickly gained traction after its release.
