‘It Will Rain’ was released in late 2011 as the lead single from the soundtrack of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1”. The track was penned and produced by the Smeezingtons (Bruno Mars, Philip Lawrence, and Ari Levine). In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Mars clarified that the song was never intended to be a part of his 2012 sophomore album “Unorthodox Jukebox”, but that he had begun working on it before he received the call to contribute to the soundtrack. After watching the movie, he knew ‘It Will Rain’ was the perfect song for it.
