99 Red Balloons

99 Red Balloons

Goldfinger

This song is a cover of “99 Red Balloons” by the Germany band Nena. In this song, the narrator and someone else buys ninety-nine red balloons and let them go into the sky. A bug in a military base believes these balloons are a missile attack starting a nuclear war. At the end of the song, the narrator stands in the dust of their city and find a red balloon. They take the red balloon and then let it go, remembering everything that led to this moment and about the person they bought the balloons with.
