Throughout the track, Jorja reflects on her experiences as a part of the Black Lives Matter movement, and explores the culture surrounding social justice in the modern day, addressing the history of lies, pain, and death that lead to this current political climate, embracing the strength in solidarity that many have found within the movement.

Proceeds collected from the project will benefit several charities and projects targeting pertinent issues such as child incarceration, criminal justice, mass incarceration, and the accountability of police officers. Jorja has attributed the song to her efforts to keep the conversation going, and keep the media alive.

The track appears on the forthcoming Roc Nation compilation of social justice-themed tracks entitled “Reprise.”
