“CUT EM IN” is Anderson .Paak’s second release of 2020, following his BLM protest track “Lockdown.” The track sees him and collaborator Rick Ross rapping about their finances, explaining how they’ll reward good friends by ‘cutting them in’ to a slice of their profits. They also talk about how sometimes people need enemies in their lives, people that don’t want them to prosper – this hate is what drives them to reach greater heights.
Notably, the song takes more of a hip-hop feel than .Paak’s previous singing-focused songs, with the pair spitting over a catchy electric guitar/piano beat produced by Hit-Boy, Corbett and G. Ry.
