Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See

Busta Rhymes

When Disaster Strikes… (1997) A thing to notice, is that busta rhymes uses the same rhyme scheme throughout the first verse, and then uses another rhyme sceme throughout the second verse.

In Complex Magazine’s internet series, ‘Magnum Opus’, Busta Rhymes explained his thought process for this song, and have a few interesting things to note.

Busta has stated that Bad Boy CEO Puffy told him to relax, and that he didn’t need to yell on every song and that women don’t want to hear him yell all the time, also that people found his natural voice when spoken in a low tone sexy. This is why he raps that way on this record, and it’s the first record to feature this type of flow from him.

Also, him saying “Yo” after nearly ever bar in the first verse comes from either the Haitian or Jamaicans (I can’t remember which) in Brooklyn. It was basically how they spoke, and Busta considered it cool.
