This track seems to be a crumpin' song where they all spit a bit of fire and move on to the next track; not to take away attention the bars that are laid down. Production done by DJ premier obviously. Preemo sampled Adrian Younges' “Thunderstrike” Adrian Younge assisted on the production of this album.
Royce is a respected MC who has gained some recognition in mainstream but his roots stay with underground. Primarily in Detroit. I personally am not sure why Schoolboy is on this track, but either way he is still on this joint, and was probably on a joint when he wrote it, but anyways.. Killer Mike is underground, but has done some recent work with El-P that is more noticed by the mainstream, but he is still considered underground to me. Mike is Atlanta based. Royce and Mike both consider themselves underground kings, based on the song title, and I would agree. Schoolboy has some solid shit he does, I just wouldn’t place him in the primary underground scene at all.
