Hands Held High

Hands Held High

Linkin Park

“Hands Held High” criticizes rich men and politicians, who use their political force just to get themselves a better life. The song uses a hymn-like beat, as though it is being sung in a church.

Booklet Notes: Early in the writing process, Rick suggested the band experiment by contrasting together unexpected elements. Because the instrumental idea is known as “Song Q” sounded primed for melodic singing, Rick suggested the opposite be done. The songs pipe organ and marching snare proved the perfect musical bed for the two most inspired verses Mike has ever delivered.
