The following is the script of 2018 movie Boy Erased, which was based off of the 2016 memoir of the same name. Detailing the horrors of American conversion therapy, the movie takes us through the story of Jared Eamons, a college student who comes out as gay to their conservative parents and is sent to a church system to “pray the gay away.” With famous actors such as Troye Sivan and Joe Alwyn, this movie displays the cruel system to convert LGBTQ+ people to “normality” while being based off of real people’s experiences.
