Slow Down

Why Don't We

Released unexpectedly by the band, “Slow Down” is the third single from Why Don’t We’s sophomore album The Good Times and The Bad Ones. Throughout the track the members sing about a changing relationship, realizing that things are moving too fast.

“Slow Down” samples The Smashing Pumpkins' January 1996 track “1979” throughout, particularly in the intro. The band hinted at this sample in an October 2020 Instagram post, captioned “like it’s 1979.”

“Slow Down” was the first title to be revealed on November 19, 2020 following the release of “Fallin' (Adrenaline)”.

On December 15, 2020, Why Don’t We posted a 14-second snippet of “Slow Down” to TikTok, asking fans “How bad do y’all want this song?”
