“The Light” has been a recurring theme within the world of ROADRUNNER: NEW LIGHT, NEW MACHINE. The band often used the phrase “The light is worth the wait” during the album’s promotional rollout, while Joba spoke on the the meaning behind “The Light” in an March 2021 interview with The Guardian:

It’s about stepping … into the light, so to speak. Or stepping into the hope and holding on for dear life.
