Hola’ Hovito

Hola’ Hovito

JAY-Z

“Hola Hovito” is the seventh track from Hov’s 6th and classic album, “The Blueprint”. Hov spills many braggadocio bars on this sick Timbaland’s track, expressing his mic abilities. It is this song that contains the line where Hov claims to be at par with Biggie, and Nas came to him with it in Ether. However, that’s a story for another day. Contrary to many speculations, the song doesn’t sample the West Coast Classic and Hov-written song “Still Dre” since only Timbo and Hov are credited as writers. The song marks a transition in the album, from disses/flexes/sex themes to more serious and mature themes like entrepreneurship/lifetime goals/ghetto/relationships problems, except that the previous track “U Don’t Know” had a more serious approach.
