“DONT SHOOT UP THE PARTY” is a G-Funk inspired banger that has Kevin addressing social issues in American culture such as gun violence, racism, homophobia, while Matt and Joba assist with verses centered on paranoia. Kevin tackled many of the same themes on his November 2016 track “Miserable America.”

The song was first previewed on a BROCKHAMPTON’s Instagram story on January 1, 2021. Two days prior to its release, Kevin shared a video on Twitter with snippets the album, including his chorus on this song.
