This song goes about thinking that you don’t deserve to be loved by someone and that if they decide to leave you, you’d be okay with it because they deserve something better. Is it sad? Yes. Can you help it but feel that way? No. Love is complicated, and if you mix it with self-love, things get even more difficult.

Following a usual recipe of bedroom pop music and pop music in general, Zeph mixes “sad” lyrics with a funky rhythm creating an interesting contraposition between them. It feels contradictory and confusing (being more similar to the intricate nature of emotions). This mix makes bedroom pop a more appealing genre, in my opinion, as a listener and fan of this “type of music”.
