“1+1” was first previewed with a snippet showed during the MTV Music Awards 2020. The version in the snippet is sung by actress Kate Hudson. However, Sia’s own version was featured on her album Music – Songs from and Inspired by the Motion Picture.

This song leaked in its entirety on February 8, 2021, along with the whole album, that was officially released four days later.
