Serving as the fourth track on American actor Tab Hunter’s album, R.F.D., “Black Coat” is a poppy song that simultaneously laments false romances. With its mainstay being the art of double-dating, Hunter details how the woman he’s with isn’t the one he loves–and how the man he’s falling for is with somebody else. Drawing many parallels to Hunter’s private life, Hunter concludes the song with his own view of himself, labelling his character to be that of a “blue, blue guy.”
