Vocalist an lyricist Davey Havok has stated that immediately upon writing it, the band knew it would be a single. He added that it took about 15 minutes to write the core of the song. He felt that the writing process was so unnervingly easy, it was as if it had “pre-existed” and gave him the chills when he first heard it played back. Guitarist Jade Puget cites it as being one of the more “pop-sounding” songs on the record and Havok claims that it is one of his favorites.
