Turn Up the Music

Chris Brown

“Turn Up the Music” is the lead single from Chris' fifth album Fortune, and is about Chris' love for music and dancing. The track bears resemblance to his October 2010 single “Yeah 3x,” incorporating Eurodance and dubstep elements. Mason Sound of The Underdogs revealed in an interview with MTV News that the song was inspired by “him as an artist, visualizing how he dances and how he performs, and giving him something to match that energy.”

“Turn Up the Music” scored Chris another top 10 single on the Billboard 100 chart, peaking at #10 and also marked Chris' first number-one single in the U.K. The track also spawned a controversial remix featuring Chris' ex-girlfriend Rihanna.
