On “Thousand Miles,” The Kid LAROI sings about his journey through recent relationships, sharing troubles he has with them. It serves as the lead single for his upcoming debut album.

A snippet of the song was first previewed on LAROI’s Instagram story in January 2021 and once again in a Twitch livestream the following month. In an August concert in London, he performed the song in its entirety.

On April 1, 2022, an early version of the track leaked in its entirety. However, LAROI soon after announced the track’s release date of April 22.
