“A Broken Heart Can Mend” is the opening song from Alexander O'Neal’s self-titled debut album. It was the album’s third single and peaked at #62 on Billboard’s R&B chart. Stylistically, the song borrows the chord structure and other melodic elements from Prince and the Revolution’s “17 Days” (1984).
