Rappers Coi Leray and Pooh Shiesty team up for PRRR. The song was first previewed on February 19th 2021 in a TikTok video of Leray dancing and singing along to the song. Then 2 days later on the 21st of February Leray posted another video on TikTok of her dancing to the song. Then, on February 28th 2021 she posted a video on her official YouTube channel teasing the release of the song

On March 7th 2021 Leray posted a video on Instagram of her and 3 others dancing to an edited version of the snippet she had already posted This snippet was longer than the original one and started off different with the snippet continuing to preview Leray and Shiesty swapping bars. This Instagram video amassed 3.4 million views in the first 2 days and caught the eye of multiple more well known people with the likes of Ski Mask the Slump God, Einer Bankz, Ty Fontaine, and even Ally Lotti, the ex-girlfriend of the late rapper Juice WRLD commenting on the video.
On March 9th Leray announced via Twitter that she would be releasing the song “that week”. However she did not end up releasing the song. This is most likely due to the death of Pooh Shiesty’s brother Tee Da P.
On March 15th Leray announced that the song would be dropping on March 19th, that Friday. She also released the cover art and officially confirmed the name of the song as Big Purr. However if you look closely at the cover art is says Big Purr (Prrdd), this is the title of the song. However she did not release the song that Friday for an unknown reason.
Then, like the previous weeks, Leray teased the release of the song that Friday via Twitter.
The song was finally released after much anticipation.
