In “18,” Jeremy is unable to hide his excitement toward a new relationship with an older college girl. Fascinated with her reckless and spontaneous lifestyle, Jeremy’s focus shifted to the possible thrills this girl can bring. The song is Jeremy’s first release following “supercuts,” and the first single for his sophomore album.

Jeremy translates his excitement toward this new endeavour through the simple use of guitar, drums and a bass. The mixture between the three sounds creates an atmosphere reminiscent of teen angst and impatience. Melody-wise, the song is very similar to other songs found on CRUSHER, most notably “Therapist” and “HONEST.”

The song was first teased by Jeremy on his Instagram, after which he dropped a snippet. One interesting point to note is the change of lyrics in the first verse between the snippet and the actual song. He then dropped a second snippet, shortly followed by the complete song.

In its visual, the video starts with a boy listening to a small snippet of “HONEST,” which was the next single to be released following “18.” Both songs are part of Jeremy’s second album, CRUSHER.
