All The Things I Wanted To Say

FYKE

“All The Things I Wanted To Say” is a punk rock song that talks about a person living with regrets of things they should have said or had wanted to say to a loved one – either a friend or family (or other loved one, such as a pet).

The song was specifically written in memoriam of Enik Lin’s personal friend and early supporter of his music career, Alex Hoang, who took his own life in March of 2021, after a battle with depression. Lin took to Instagram twice to write on his memories of Hoang, the first on March 13, 2021, and the second on April 22, 2021 – the day that the song was released.

Lin, who is a survivor, supporter and ally for those struggling with mental health, added to his April 22nd post about Hoang:

If you or anyone you know struggles with depression. Please speak up and tell someone. You are absolutely not alone and you don’t have to go through it alone. The world is a brighter place with you in it.

In Lin’s second in memoriam post, he wrote that his fondest memory of Hoang was of him “run[ning] around in the mosh pits at [his] old band shows”. The track being a more rock heavy song might be an homage to those times.
