Nina sits on Claudia’s stoop, and Benny comes in off the dispatch. She teases him about his Spanish skills, and he replies that Puerto Rican Spanish and Dominican Spanish are like two different languages. Nina reveals that the privileged kids at Stanford seemed to speak a different English from her. They bond over their common experience of alienation, and Nina begins to sing.
