New Normal, a song released by R&B hotshot Khalid, features slightly new trap-infused, recognizable yet low-pitched vocals through the verses, and synth-aided, bass-heavy beats found throughout the jaunty song.

New Normal was premiered live on stage a week and a half before its initial release date, designed for the Unity 22 crew’s landing for the 22nd flight test for VVS Unity.

The song’s inspiration comes from last year,

Around this time last year, I was super fascinated and gravitated toward space. I was watching this comet by the name of NEOWISE last year, and space travel is something that I’ve always been interested in as well. And I’ve been going through the motions of understanding this new, postmodern future that’s coming together, especially when it comes down to technology — it’s something that really excites me.
