“Why Don’t You Touch Me,” the third single off of Leon Bridge’s third studio album, tells the story of a couple whose love for one another has diminished over time. It can be heard from the perspective of both party’s, with both hoping that a single touch will solve their relationship issues. Leon shared in a 2021 interview that he wanted the song to portray a vulnerability in R&B that people don’t normally see.

“Why Don’t You Touch Me” was released alongside two music videos. The first flashes between the couple’s first meeting and their present-day trouble. The second is from the perspective of Leon, an outsider who writes a song inspired by the couple’s relationship.
