“Painting Pictures” sees Chicago rapper Polo G rap about his close friends and the ones he has lost over a piano-based trap beat, proclaiming his superiority and looking back on gang life before fame.

It was initially previewed in the announcement of Polo’s third studio album, Hall of Fame, and it later would find its place as the project’s introduction track.

Three days after the track’s release, it received a Ryan Lynch-directed music video shot on his home block. It is dedicated to Polo’s lost friend Edward Bryant, who he alludes to twice on the track.
