Bloody Canvas

Bloody Canvas

Polo G

On “Bloody Canvas,” Polo G narrates a story of gang violence and revenge over a mellow, piano-heavy trap instrumental.

While Polo has not specified its origin, the track’s lyrics align with the death of one of the Bryant twins—Edwin and Edward—who were both killed at the age of seventeen in a drive-by shooting. Considering the music video to Hall of Fame’s introduction track is dedicated to Edward, it would seem appropriate for its finale to echo a similar narrative.

The first verse finds Polo narrating his come-up in third person, introducing a murder. He then assumes the alias of “Sed,” a likely nod to his gang, Sedville. To round out the story, he details his hypothetical revenge on the killer, which results in a nearly half-century prison sentence.
