“’87 Stingray” is the second single leading up to Brampton native rapper Tory Lanez’s sixth studio album, Alone at Prom, an 80’s album expected to drop on December 10, 2021.

The track’s theme rides the 80s Pop culture vibe with a dancey beat produced with the collaboration between Orlando that Great, CHAZZZZ, and Vikaden.

The title of the song refers to the car line of the Chevorlet Corvette Stingray. Tory emphasizes the “87” due to the album being themed in the 1980s.

Previously known as “On My Way” by fans, the song was first previewed on July 3, 2021 on Instagram live, where Tory shared half of the song. Nearly almost five months after the song had been previewed, it was announced on November 30, that the song would be retitled to “‘87 Stingray” and would be the album’s next single.
