Yebba called the song “panicky” and her number one emotion while creating this was anxiety. In a 2021 Glamour magazine article, Yebba shares exactly what the song is about, “It’s a song that’s cloaked in as a romantic song lyrically, but it’s really about my frustration with all of the issues about rage. It’s also about my frustration with not being able to pray to God, and not finding words.”

She talks about the moments of shedding old beliefs and again, frustration. Her ability to accept her mothers decision, and write down the unspeakable conversations she couldn’t have with God at the time.
