“papercuts,” the lead single off of Machine Gun Kelly’s sixth studio album, mainstream sellout, discusses his struggles with living in the public eye off the tails of his successful 2020 record Tickets to My Downfall and high-profile relationship with actress Megan Fox. Stylistically, the song takes on a grittier, more industrial sound than the pop-punk sound of his previous record, while still recruiting ​​blink-182 drummer Travis Barker on percussion.

Alongside the song, MGK released a Cole Bennett-directed music video, marking their first collaboration and Bennett’s first rock video.
