“Drugs N Hella Melodies” was first previewed on Don Toliver’s Instagram with the caption “Best birthday ever.” It was posted on June 13, 2021, the day after Don turned 27. Later, Don confirmed this would be the second single to Life of a DON, releasing on June 18th, 2021. The song’s music video was a continuation of Don’s first single for the album, “What You Need,” both directed by Nabil.
