Radio Head

Radio Head

Talking Heads

“Radio Head” can be thought of as a companion piece to “Television Man” from the preceding album, Little Creatures. Where “Television Man” examined the relationship one has with TV and how one can easily find themselves immersed in, defined by, and sometimes controlled by the programming they watch, “Radio Head” discusses the immersive, oftentimes escapist nature of radio.

Alternative rock band “Radiohead” derived its name from this track. Thom Yorke of Radiohead changed the band’s initial name “On a Friday” to Radiohead after they signed a contract with EMI.
