This song specifically speaks to the rat race and static systems that keep us in a rut. Trying to overcome my own history, overcome the need to be a success story, an achiever. Trying to outrun it all with the weight of expectation on your shoulders.

Feeling boxed in by my own work, race, womanhood, age, experience level, and looks and just wanting to singular and free.

For me it was ultimately freeing to admit that I don’t know how to carry those identities or if I even wanted to anymore. To just strip myself completely. And to admit that I don’t know anything.
