“Hurricane” is the lead single from Donda, the song was highly expected after being one of the biggest leaks from the Yandhi era.

The song was first previewed by Kanye West in an Instagram post on September 14, 2018. It was later previewed on September 27, 2018, in a tweet featuring a caption that would tease the original release date of his scrapped album, Yandhi.

“Hurricane” would later appear on earlier tracklists for Donda in July 2020. On July 22, 2020, Kanye posted a now deleted tweet, claiming Lil Baby was his favorite rapper but wouldn’t work with him. Lil Baby then responded claiming he wasn’t aware of the refusal.

Lil Baby would later be flown out to Wyoming to work with Kanye on Donda, and info would later surface that he would be featured on “Hurricane.”

The track was officially played at the first public listening party for Donda, which happened at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium on July 22, 2021.

“Hurricane” has seen dozens of unreleased versions, with verses from Young Thug, Ty Dolla $ign, Big Sean, 6ix9ine, KayCyy, 070 Shake, Ant Clemons, Consequence, Vic Mensa, Lil Yachty, Rooga & many more.
